27 WEEKS

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? A little over 2 lbs and about 15.5 inches head to toe

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURRING IN MY BABY? The baby's central nervous system now regulates their body temp. The baby is sucking on anything he can reach to his mouth, hands, umbilical cord, toes and knees. Sucking provides vital neural connections in the brain. Baby's eyelashes are fully developed. Baby is working on putting on layers of fat. And his pulse will speed up when he hears music.

HOW BIG AM I? My uterus is about 2.75 inches above my belly button. Still at a stand still with my weight. But honestly I have to say it feels like the baby has doubled in size the last 2 weeks.

HOW AM I FEELING? What a week! I've been nesting like crazy! You know how you are when you have company coming over? That times like 100. I'm so tired! But I wake up at like 3 am thinking... I should go clean the toilet...LOL....I'm mean REALLY! Wow!

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? Still doing great. Got some good news about his job. Prayers answered there. You can read back in older posts that I mentioned things not looking so great. But we really have been focusing on our faith in God in that matter. :)

QUESTIONS FOR MY DR? none really

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: UHHH! EVERYTHING! Lets see... My 28th week(7th month whoot whoot!) starts on Dec 23rd. Derricks family is coming over on Christmas Eve night and we are going over to Mom's on Christmas Eve day. So I haven't begun to wrap the first gift... still some cleaning I have to do, groceries still need to be bought, the dog needs a bath, and the nursery will be FINISHED so the family can see it so help me Jesus! I think that about it. What was I saying last week about just enjoying the holiday!?!?

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: On Dec. 18th and 22nd you had the hiccups. On the 18th it was the first time I felt them and it was at 2:30 am. I grabbed my baby monitor and I also heard your heartbeat for the first time with it. I recorded it on my phone. On the 22nd I was at work and really enjoyed watching the movements of you jump.

Funny story about the 18th: So like I said I wake up to these wierd steady thumps. It took me a minute to figure out what was going on, so I grab the monitor, listening to you and super duper excited that I'm hearing your heart beat for the first time at home. I'm flipping out cause it's 2:30 am and I want to talk to your dad (who is dead to the world right now). So I try for about a minute to wake him... nothing. So I'm way to wired to sleep now so I listen to you for about another 30 minutes. Then decide to go watch a movie, Fantastic 4 incase your wondering. Then I decide after the movie I'll nap on the couch... slept about 30 minutes. So i go back and lay down next to Derrick thinking it's 7:30 finally! and he should be getting up at 8, alarms going off and he keeps hitting snooze! Oh come on already, I'm thinking. So I tell him (he's half alseep) I heard your heartbeat did he want to hear it? "Yes" he says, so I go to hand him the head phones and he's grabbing with his eyes closed, then he holds them to the side of his head and says "cool" and hands them back to me...
Now lets just think about how I felt about this after I waited very impatiently for 5 hours, and all I get was a 5 second listen and "cool." Seriously I'm thinking. The funny part is what your dad remembers happening. He remembers putting the headphones on, and listening for a while then saying, "That's strong." So remember Baby Jones, when daddy is asleep well just let him sleep. Wait until he wakes to talk to him I promise you will get a much better response. SIDE NOTE: I lve you hunny and I know you are super excited about this baby and he is so lucky to have you as a Daddy!
