38 Weeks 9 1/2 MONTHS- Happy Birthday Daxton

My Birthday is this week! March 5th so is your Great Aunt Kathy's and Janie Givens, you would be a wonderful birthday present to all of us. But only if you are ready!

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? Baby is about 6.75 pounds and 21 inches. Well... more like 9 pounds 3 ounces and 22.5 inches long.

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURRING IN MY BABY? Baby's lungs are beginning to mature and will finish maturing all the way until the moment of birth. Baby is still putting on fat that will help regulate his body temperature after he is born

HOW BIG AM I? Should be measuring between 36 to 38 cm. As long as there is a steady growth it doesn't have to be exact by the number I give. That's why you will constantly see should, about, and around.

HOW AM I FEELING? Great! I have a beautiful and healthy son.

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? Amazed

QUESTIONS FOR MY DR? Can we go home now?

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: Soak up the son!

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: I've never felt more blessed as I do now. I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful daughter and an amazing son. What more could anyone ask for?

Our Baby's Name

Well it is official. His name shall be Daxton Thomas.
Derrick picked out the name Daxton and I just loved it.
Thomas is Derrick's middle name and was passed down from his granddad on his mom's side James Thomas. Daxton and Derrick have the same initials.
And everyone who has heard the name seem to like it. We will
call him Dax for a nick name I'm sure.

37 Weeks

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? Baby is about 6.5 pounds and 21 inches.

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURING IN MY BABY? Baby will suck it thumb and still plays with the umbilical cord. Baby is receibing maternal antibodies that will provide immunities to protect him in his first months of life.

HOW BIG AM I? Should be measuring 37cm and have a total weight gain of 25 to 35 pounds. Well lets see...I measured 40cm at my last Dr's visit. And a total weight gain of -4 pounds...yep that's right. I've slowly been gaining back the 21 I lost in the first 19 weeks. I still have 4 more pounds to break even. Don't know why I'm so blessed!

HOW AM I FEELING? CRAZY!

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? SLEEP DEPRIVED and the baby isn't even here yet!

QUESTIONS FOR MY DR? I really wish he would quit talking C-section

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: OK this week... this one gets the UGH!!!!. There's not enough time to type it all! LOL

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: I think Derrick and myself are looking forward to being off, taking care of our baby, spending some well needed quiet time together. We'll see how well that goes, with a newborn in the house...Daxton - Be GOOD!

36 Weeks 9 MONTHS!!!!

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? Baby is now about 6 pounds and 20.75 inches. We had an ultrasound at 34 weeks and Baby Jones was measuring 6 pounds 4 ounces.

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURRING IN MY BABY? Baby may have hair longer than 1.5 inches once born. Baby will recognize my voice and song. Baby is spending more time awake.

HOW BIG AM I? Should be measuring about 36cm. The uterus is now probably under my ribs.

HOW AM I FEELING? A little busy. Still haven't packed my hospital bag. LOL I mean really my life has been that crazy!

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? Excited! Tired! Everything a Dad to Be. Is suppose to be.

QUESTIONS FOR MY DR? UGH!!!! That's all I can say!

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: Baby Shower Whoot! Whoot!

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: WOW What? 9 months already!
The baby shower was amazing. I'm so tired from it all. I feel like I waited to long but I was afraid of the weather getting in the was. I was a beautiful weekend!
I will be doing a separate post...eventually... on just the shower and post pictures.

35 Weeks

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? Baby Boy is about 5.5 pounds and about 20.25 inches

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURRING IN MY BABY? The baby's lungs are the last organs to mature. Baby has a keen sense of taste and has tasted all the flavors of my food in the amniotic fluid. If I eat garlic my fluid will taste like garlic... Note to self no strong smelling food the last weeks of pregnancy...just in case my water breaks I would prefer it to smell like cinnamon buns not garlic.

HOW BIG AM I? Sound be measuring about 35cm. Around 6 inches above my belly button.

HOW AM I FEELING? A little stressed. Baby shower is this weekend (I'll be 36 weeks/ 9 months), I haven't packed the hospital bag, house needs to be cleaned... and I need a nap!

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? I think he is getting a little nervous. Like me! He snuggled my belly while he was sleeping one night this week, it was kinda funny, Daxton would kick and Derrick would move a little. It was really cute!

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: My precious son. I can't wait to meet you. You are so loved and you haven't even arrived yet!

One of my Sunday School teachers passed away this week, my heart was broken. With everything else going on I got my days mixed up and missed her funeral. I was so upset over that. On Sunday my mom got a call from L.D., Martha's husband, telling her there was a gift at his house for Baby Jones, did she know who it was for? Of course mom said it was for me. Later that day he dropped it by and I picked it up on Monday. She had even signed the card! Martha was more than a Sunday School teacher to me, she had rocked me in the nursery when I was a baby. I was a member of the Rainbow girls and she was one of our leaders. She was also on of the leaders when I was in youth group. She was there when I had Elisabeth. All my life. She was a wonderful woman and heaven is now a little sweeter with her there. I would have definately loved to see her rock Daxton in the nursery same as she did me, same as she did Liz.

34 Weeks - 8 1/2 months

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? About 5 pounds... Aren't you becoming a big boy! Total length about 19 3/4 inch.

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURRING IN MY BABY? Baby is gaining about an ounce of fat each day. Baby enjoys hearing music and can recognize some songs after birth.

HOW BIG AM I? Belly should be measuring around 34 cm

HOW AM I FEELING?Pretty Good. My belly is really tight and i can tell Dax doesn't have much room.

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? Doing OK. He was sick last week. But feeling better now

QUESTIONS FOR MY DR? Wanted to ask him about sleeping on my back? (Answered myself) Now I feel to big to sleep on my back anyway...

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: Open House at work, we also have a sonogram this week and a Dr's Appt.

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: Dax scared me 2 times this week. Kinda funny. I was laying on my arm and he moved. It felt more like he was out side my body than inside. I jumped because I was dead asleep and it startled me.

33 weeks

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? Weight is about 4.5 pounds, total length is nearly 19.5 inches wow. That's almost the size of a real baby lol.

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURING IN MY BABY? He is now dreaming while he sleeps and yawns too. He will also stick out his tongue to taste the amniotic fluid.

HOW BIG AM I? Should be measuring 33 cm and baby should be setting 5.5 inches aboves my belly button.

HOW AM I FEELING? I had a rather painful weekend. I went to a New Mom Consign It Sale with Momma. We also went and got some of the stuff for the baby shower. We also had Little Man with us so I was taking him in and out of the van. All that walking and tuging and pulling did me in. That night I woke up in complete back pain. I almost cried. I sat in the rocking chair for 2 hours then was able to lay back down. I guess it is time for MommaC to take it a little easier and quit thinking she is super prego!

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? Derrick is always amazing! I just love him. I've done pretty good not having pregnancy craving. BUT! I asked him to go to the store to get corn chips, snickers with almonds, orange serbet, and sour cream. Yikes! Funny part is we had just come from the store picking up things for Life Group. He did it without complaint and got everything right and it was SO GOOD!

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: I still haven't packed any hospital bags. I just got the car seat and it needs to be put in. I have Open House at work next week... normally I'm excited, almost 8 1/2 months pregnant... not so much! Need to get the oil changed in the van. Can you call me princess random?!?

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: You are just like your sister... you get the hiccups every day! Which is cute except when it is 3 am. It's like trying to sleep with someone constantly thumping you. But it's ok, I love you!

We also took D.O.G. to the park on Saturday. He acted like he had never seen grass or trees. He's been in the house cause of all the snow. This was the first pretty day in a while. He just loved it. Liz enjoyed playing too, there were 3 little kids and she just jumped into her narural big sister roll and started pushing them on the swings. To me it was a glimps for years to come. She's gonna be a great big sister. She loves you so much already. I know she can't wait to meet you! Dad walked me all over the park. I had mentioned to him walking helps with my back pain. Slow and steady and holding my hand the whole time. :) I pray you end up with a heart like your daddy.

32 WEEKS / 8 MONTHS

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? Baby is around 4 pounds and 16 to 18 inches long.

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURRING IN MY BABY? The baby's lanugo is starting to disappear. Baby is drinking in and urination about a pint of amniotic fluid a day. he can see, hear, taste, smell and touch!

HOW BIG AM I? A little change. I weighed this morning and was 241 pounds, so -15 pounds, that's 1 more pound than last week.

HOW AM I FEELING? Sleepy off and on. The more naps I take the better I feel when I'm awake.

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? Pretty good. He is getting really excited. Constantly asking me "Are you okay?" Some of baby Jones' kicks are just crazy hard. Derrick is opening doors and helping me in and out of the car. Doing more chores around the house. He gonna be such a great daddy to you baby boy! He really takes care of our family.

QUESTIONS FOR MY DR? Not much, I want to go over my birth plan with him at our next visit. I has such trouble even knowing how to start one. Thank God for Google...lol

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: Fill out my birth plan with Derrick.

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: 8 months WOW! Deep breath! Wow! You're really almost here. It still seems unreal sometimes.

31 WEEKS

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? Baby is about 3.5 to 4 pounds and 18 inches long

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURRING IN MY BABY? Toe nails and finger nails are completely formed. Eyes are often open when baby is active... How cute!

HOW BIG AM I? Should be measuring 34 cm (belly size). I' weighing myself just avout every day. I'm still stuck on 240 pounds that's -16 pounds from the day I found out.

HOW AM I FEELING? Pretty good. I sleep as much as I can. 3pm everyday hits me hard.

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? Great about his little boy. Sad because football season is almost over. But you can be sure he is already gearing up to watch some major football next season with his new little side kick.

QUESTIONS FOR MY DR? none

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: Get the rest of Dax's bigger clothes in totes, clean out my closet, clean my room, work on the baby shower plans.

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK:You are on a schedule now of when you are active. 5 am- telling me to go pee, 7am - time to wake me up, 9:30am reminding me to eat breakfast, 12:30 - lunch time, 2:30pm - play time, 4:30pm - almost time to pick up daddy, 6pm - dinner time, 7:30 - play time, 9:30 time to go to bed.

BREAST FEEDING CLASS: Went to breast feeding class on Jan 13th. I loved this class and got so much out of it. I hope it helps bring great success this time around. I know it is best for me and the baby. I learned about what regular formula is made of (cow's milk) and how it always stays the same but breast milk with change as your baby grows. I was just amazed and really will try to add a post just on some of the things to do with breast feeding.

30 WEEKS / 7 1/2 MONTHS

HOW BIG IS MY BABY? Baby's weight is about 3 pounds and total length is about 17 inches.

WHAT CHANGES ARE OCCURING IN MY BABY? Baby's digestive tract is very near mature development. Baby should double it's weight between now and birth. I sure hope it is only double... by what the Dr. says baby boy is gonna be a biggin'.

HOW BIG AM I? Weighed this morning (30 weeks) I was 240 which means I'm back to -16 pounds. I'm eating like crazy. The adverage is to gain 1 pound a week right now.

HOW AM I FEELING? Pretty Good. Little bit of heart burn, not much.

HOW IS MY HUBBY FEELING? Very down this week. This is his last week in Radiology and I know his hear is breaking.

QUESTIONS FOR MY DR? none

THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK: Get clothes organized(Liz helped) and get them into totes. Put up the Christmas tree. Get everyone together to plan baby shower.

SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS WEEK: Went to Lamaze class this weekend. Daddy, baby daddy not my daddy... went with me. Helped me to learn relaxation techniques and how to breath.

ADVICE FOR PREGOS: Don't drink Green Tea!!! It's bad for the baby.

Even though I feel you move all the time. It's hard to believe you are living inside me. It just amazes me. How I can love you so much and haven't met you yet. I can't wait to see your precious face. We have a sonogram coming up and I want you to be goo. Just give a peek of how precious you are. Love you with all my heart...MOM :)
